The trauma team at The Children's Medical Center of Dayton provides specialized care for injured children inthe Miami Valley region. The trauma team is available 24 hours a day to direct emergency resuscitation of the critically injured child. The service cares for children with unintentional and intentional injuries whose mechanisms of injury include motor vehicle crash, burn, fall, animal bite, assault, bicycle accident, recreational activities and child abuse. The pediatric specialized trauma team is attentive to the unique needs of the injured child and his or her family. All children with injuries--from minor to severe--are cared for by a well-organized professional team that is dedicated to children and their families.

Trauma center receives Level II pediatric trauma center re-verification from the American College of Surgeons in 2008.
