Other information: Shalini G. Forbis, MD, will be devoting a significant portion of her time to research work with Jack Pascoe, MD, in Child Health Research. Dr. Forbis will also be seeing patients at the Children's Health Clinic.
Dr. Forbis is a graduate of the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo where she also served her internship and residency in pediatrics. She comes to Dayton Children's from her fellowship training in general academic pediatrics at the University of Rochester where she was named the 2001 Wm. L. Bradford Fellow.
Dr. Forbis' research interests encompass vulnerable populations, health literacy and asthma. She recently co-authored an article in Pediatrics on "Readability of Asthma Action Plans in National Guidelines." She has also been involved in the community with Literacy Volunteers in Rochester, NY, and in educational program development for the Rochester Community Asthma Network. |
