Outpatient Care Center – Springboro opening
Dayton Children’s Outpatient Care Center - Springboro, urgent care, laboratory and medical imaging will open on November 7, 2008. Rehabilitative services (audiology, occupational, physical and speech therapy) will open on November 10. Urgent Care – South (5334 Far Hills Ave.) will remain open as the new Outpatient Testing Center – Kettering for your laboratory and medical imaging needs and the last day of business for the Outpatient Testing Center – Springboro (60 Remick Boulevard) will be November 6. For any questions about any of our facilities or the new Outpatient Care Center – Springboro, call 937-641-3666.

  • A community open house will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 am to noon. There will be activities and giveaways for patients and families, including a Teddy Bear Clinic and Dayton Dragons’ mascots Heater and Gem.

Outpatient Testing Center – Vandalia to open in December
Dayton Children’s Outpatient Testing Center – Vandalia will open on Monday, December 15, 2008.  Join us for a “sneak peek” of the facility on Thursday, December 11, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The outpatient testing center is conveniently located at 810 Falls Creek Drive, Suite A, off the Northwoods Boulevard exit off I-75 and will offer basic x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiograms, EKGs and full laboratory services. Pediatric surgeon joins Dayton Children’s
Dayton Children’s welcomes Jeffrey Pence, MD, to the department of pediatric surgery on November 10. Dr. Pence joins us from the department of surgery at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He is fellowship trained in surgical critical care and pediatric surgery, and board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care. New chronic pain clinic
Dayton Children’s department of neurology is pleased to announce a new chronic pain clinic for pediatric patients. The chronic pain clinic is held on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, on the first floor of the new outpatient center. This new specialty service will provide consultation, evaluation and advanced treatment for a range of chronic pain conditions. For more information, call the department of neurology at 937-641-3080. Note: This clinic will be accepting all new referrals for the adolescent headache clinic.

Grand rounds online now more convenient
For your convenience, you are now able to submit your grand rounds post-tests and evaluations entirely online – they no longer require a fax machine. There are now 21 sessions available through grand rounds online. This program allows physicians, nurses and other health care providers to watch recorded grand rounds sessions from their home or office computer at their convenience.
